How it manifests:
A sudden darkening in one eye, as if someone had lowered a blind or put on a gray diaper. It lasts from a few seconds to a few minutes, after which vision is restored.
What it means:
This could be the result of a small clot traveling through the ophthalmic artery—a signal of problems with the vessels that feed the brain.
2. Unexplained clumsiness or “alien hand”
A few days before a stroke, a strange feeling of lack of control over movements may appear.
Signs:
dropping objects for no reason
difficulty with precise movements (e.g. unlocking a door)
sudden deterioration of handwriting
Feelings:
numbness of the fingers
"tingling" on one side of the body
This may be a sign of impaired coordination between the two cerebral hemispheres.
