I was on the train when a man sat across from me and stared at me. It wasn't the usual look, the kind that glides absentmindedly across strangers' faces on public transportation. No, this one was focused.

In the morning, lawyer Stoyanov entered the room with a serious expression. He was carrying a thermos of coffee and several newspapers.
– Good morning. I hope you managed to get some sleep. I have news.

Our hearts jumped.
“What?” Maria asked.

– First, the search of Peter's office ended last night. They found nothing, of course. But they seized all the computers and servers. It will take weeks to examine them, but this practically paralyzes the work of the company. Second, a warrant has been issued for Peter's detention for questioning.

“What?!” I shouted.

– Don’t worry. He hasn’t been arrested. Not yet. My colleague, whom I sent to the police, managed to find out that for the moment they are only looking for him. Petar has gone into hiding. He managed to get out of the building before the blockade, but he can’t get home or contact us in a normal way. He is currently a fugitive.

“And Ivaylo?” I asked.

– Ah, Ivaylo is acting. – said Stoyanov, leafing through one of the newspapers. – Here it is. A financial daily. On the front page: “Construction entrepreneur investigated for large-scale financial fraud”. There is a photo of Petar. Inside there is an article full of innuendo and direct accusations. Anonymous sources, “leaked” documents… Everything is very well orchestrated. Ivaylo is not only using the police, but also the media to destroy your brother’s reputation, even before any case has been started.
